Happy Friday, everyone!

After a busy, yet enjoyable week, I am ready for the Thanksgiving holiday. How about you?

I don't have any major plans for the day itself, but I look forward to taking the week off to relax, spend time with family, celebrate my birthday, and maybe even tackle a few DIY projects along the way. I won't be sharing any blog posts next week, so I'll take this time to wish you all a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving!

Now, to some of my favorite finds from the around the web...

1 A helpful tutorial on how to cook a juicy, flavorful Thanksgiving turkey.

2 This gorgeous scarf, featuring hand-lettered words of wisdom, would make a lovely gift. (via The Veda House)

3 An awesome DIY triangle shelf by Whimsy Darling... Love the styling, too!

4 Head over to sfgirlbybay for your chance to win 10 books from Chronicle Books!

5 I can't wait to make these double chocolate chip cupcakes with cookie dough frosting for my birthday!!

diy gift ideas

Happy Friday!

In lieu of a "Week in Review" post, I thought I would share some awesome DIY projects that I've discovered over the past week or so... Wouldn't these make great handmade gifts or party favors for the upcoming holidays?
  1. marbled clay ring dish | a beautiful mess
  2. sugar lip scrubs | brit + co
  3. fabric-wrapped mini pies | julep
  4. wrap necklace | the lovely drawer

As always, feel free to check out my "must try diy" board on Pinterest for even more project ideas!

warmth in a winter wonderland

Here is the inspiration board I created as part of Minted's Holiday Card Inspiration Board challenge. I chose Lori Wemple's "Floral Wreath" design because I love the bold wreath illustration, and the warm, subtle texture of the kraft background.

When I began working on this inspiration board, I mostly looked for images that coordinated with the design's color palette. From there, I started thinking about the contrast between cool and warm. It reminded me of those cool winter days where you can't wait to be in the comfort of your own home. Maybe you make a cup of tea, or curl up under a cozy flannel blanket. Either way, it is there that you find all the warmth you need...
