week in review

Sorry for the later than usual blog post. This has been such a busy week, and I still can't believe it's already Friday evening. Seriously, where did the time go?!

Before I head out, I wanted to check in and share some exciting news, and my favorite finds of the week. First things first, I added some new designs to my Zazzle shop. The collection mostly includes Post-It notes, but I hope to add other products within the next few weeks. Also, I am so excited to announce that 3 of my photo collage art prints were selected by Minted. The designs (see them here, here, and here) should launch within the next few months... Stay tuned!

Now, to the things I loved this week:

capture - This sunny photograph by Gray Malin has me dreaming of summer!

smile - I was so excited to hear that Stephen Colbert will be taking over "The Late Show" in 2015... Although, I wish "The Colbert Report" didn't have to end!

want - These hexagon rings have officially been added to my wish list.

make - I love these pretty DIY wildflower seed bombs. Wouldn't they be perfect as Easter gifts or party favors?

tour - This bright, colorful home is absolute perfection!

eat - I gotta try this baked chicken chimichanga!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

orange you glad

Sorry... I couldn't resist using that silly expression. But seriously, it's orange picking season around here, and I am feeling a little adventurous! In previous years, my family and I just ate the oranges as is, or even made orange juice. This year, however, I want to try something new. After looking on Pinterest for recipe ideas, I gathered a few of my favorites to share with you!

  1. chinese orange chicken, damn delicious
  2. orange marmalade, baked bree
  3. cranberry orange loaf, table for two
  4. crab and shrimp salad with avocado and oranges, williams-sonoma

week in review

After a week of traveling and working on Christmas cards (crazy, right?!), I am ready for a weekend of relaxation and more work. Ha! I've been procrastinating a little on my party decor files, so I think it's time to shift my focus away from holiday designs and get back to work on that.

As always, my favorite finds of the week:

celebrate - How adorable is this Easter beach party?!

wear - I wish I could add this lovely floral maxi dress to my wardrobe!

tour - I recently discovered Helen Dealtry's gorgeous work, so I was excited to find her studio tour on the Loeffler Randall blog... What a colorful, inspiring space!

win - Victoria Smith of sfgirlbybay is giving away 3 copies of the book Eat & Make, by Sweet Paul. Click here for instructions on how to enter, and good luck!

watch - I absolutely love this holiday video created by the team at Minted!!

download - Start April off right with this beautiful desktop calendar from Oana Befort.

Have a great weekend!

my trip to los angeles

I'm back from my trip, and I can't even begin to tell you how exciting it was. Let me start by saying that I hadn't been to Los Angeles in 5 or 6 years, so I pretty much forgot how eclectic and lively the place is. I mean, it's obvious why people from all around the world come to LA. There is so much to see and do, and the energy there is just awe-inspiring. I kind of wish we had a few more days to take it all in, but I guess it just means we'll have to make another trip up there sometime soon.

Anyway, our plans for this trip included some of the normal touristy things, but we also made time to explore a few new places. I think my favorite part was going up to the Griffith Observatory. Not only did I enjoy walking through the exhibits, and seeing the telescope, but I also couldn't believe how breathtaking the view was… It was like we were on top of the world!

1. Passing through Camp Pendleton. 2. The adorable window display at Paper Source (from a quick stop at South Coast Plaza) 3. The painted ceiling of the Griffith Observatory. 4. Early afternoon at The Grove. 5. The tar pits in La Brea. 6. An exterior view of the Griffith Observatory. 7. Sprinkles cupcakes for everyone... My peanut butter chip cupcake was so, so good! 8. Passing by the Chinese Theatre.
